STRESZCZENIE
Autorzy przedstawiają wyniki analizy umiejętności i potrzeb dwójki dzieci z zespołem Pradera-Williego.

ABSTRACT
The authors describe the results of the abilities and needs analysis of 2 children with Prader-Willi syndrome.Clinical diagnoses were verified by methylation studies of DNA in the pericentromeric region of chromosome 15. The children were observed and yideographed during their therapy in an environment structured according to the principles of Maria Montessori. The recorded behaviour of the children was evaluated with methods of the qualitative content analysis. The observed in the children abilities included aspects of emotional and social development and perceptions activity. The temper tantrums described as characteristic traits of Prader-Willi syn-drome may be the consequence of abnormalities in the educational process. Among the needs of the children was observed the necessity to meet requirements by increasing degrees of difficulties and to constantly realise thern. This approach to the developmental and behavioural phenotype provides new information regarding the developmental prognosis given to the parents during genetic counselling and to the specialists and leads to new concepts for early developmental therapy and educational intervention.
